Anuradhapura's Poson festival centers on the ancient capital's sacred monuments, including the Sri Maha Bodhi tree, the Ruwanwelisaya stupa, and the Mahavihara ruins, all linked to the kingdom that embraced Buddhism after King Devanampiyatissa's conversion at nearby Mihintale.
