Colombo Art Biennale in Colombo
The Colombo Art Biennale, or CAB, is Sri Lanka's largest recurring contemporary art event, founded in 2009 to raise the profile of local artists at home and abroad. Held roughly every two years across multiple venues throughout the city, from warehouses to colonial buildings, each edition is curated around a distinct theme spanning painting, sculpture, installation and new media.
Warehouses, colonial buildings and gallery spaces across Colombo turn into a sprawling exhibition each time the Colombo Art Biennale, known as CAB, returns to the city, positioning itself as the largest and most significant contemporary art event in Sri Lanka.
