Adam's Peak Pilgrimage Season in Sri Pada/Adam's Peak

Sri Pada, known abroad as Adam's Peak, draws pilgrims of four faiths to a summit footprint venerated as the Buddha's, Shiva's or Adam's mark, depending on tradition. The pilgrimage season runs from the December full moon through the May full moon, when the night-lit trail and roadside tea stalls support tens of thousands of walkers climbing to see sunrise from the summit.

For roughly five months each cool season, a chain of lights climbs the flank of a conical peak in central Sri Lanka, marking the nightly ascent of pilgrims to Sri Pada, better known internationally as Adam's Peak.
