Blue Nile Cultural Festival in Damazin/Blue Nile State
A cultural festival proposed for Damazin, capital of Blue Nile State, celebrating the region's ethnic diversity, including Ingessana, Berta and Uduk communities, alongside riverine traditions along the Blue Nile.
Blue Nile State is one of Sudan's most ethnically diverse regions, home to Ingessana, Berta, Uduk and other communities alongside Sudanese Arab populations, and its landscape includes the Roseires Dam, a major hydropower and irrigation project on the Blue Nile that underpins much of the region's agricultural economy.
