Kivik Market in Kivik
Kiviks Marknad is one of Sweden's largest traditional trading markets, held every July in the small Skane coastal village of Kivik, at the heart of the country's main apple-growing district. Over three days more than a thousand stalls and a traveling funfair draw around 100,000 visitors to a fixture that has run since the Hanseatic era.
Long before Kivik became known for its orchards, the coastline of southeastern Skane was a stopping point for Hanseatic traders moving goods around the Baltic.
