Orebro Pride in Orebro

Orebro Pride refers to the LGBTQ pride movement in Orebro, a city with a genuinely historic place in Swedish pride history, as the site of Sweden's first pride parade in 1971. Since 2019, the city's pride festival has officially operated under the name Nerike Pride rather than Orebro Pride.

In May 1970, a small group in Orebro founded the Gay Power Club, a political association whose stated purpose, according to its charter, was creating greater understanding for different minorities.
