Taiwan Literature Festival in Tainan
The Taiwan Literature Festival is organized by the National Museum of Taiwan Literature in Tainan, the island's oldest city, bringing together readings, forums and exhibitions that celebrate Taiwanese-language and Taiwan-focused literary work across the museum's programming calendar.
Tainan carries more than four hundred years of continuous urban history, founded as a Dutch trading base, ruled afterward as the seat of the Kingdom of Tungning and then as the capital of Taiwan Prefecture under the Qing dynasty, before Taipei eventually took over as the island's administrative center.
