Taipei Hakka Yimin Festival in Taipei
The Taipei Hakka Yimin Festival honors the Yimin, or righteous martyrs, worship tradition central to Hakka communities, adapted for Taipei's Hakka population through ritual offerings and cultural performances timed to the traditional Yimin worship date in the lunar seventh month.
Yimin worship, the veneration of the righteous martyrs, is one of the most distinctive markers of Hakka religious identity in Taiwan, rooted in the memory of militia and civilians who died defending their communities during conflicts of the Qing era.
