Didor International Film Festival in Dushanbe
Didor International Film Festival is Tajikistan's longest-running film festival, held biennially in Dushanbe since 2004 with a founding mission to bring together East and West on screen. Originally focused on Persian-language cinema, it has expanded to include Russian and European films alongside a dedicated documentary edition in alternating years.
When Didor International Film Festival launched in Dushanbe in 2004, Tajikistan's film industry was still recovering from the disruption of civil war in the 1990s and the broader collapse of Soviet-era cinema infrastructure across Central Asia.
