Panjakent Suzani International Folk Art Festival in Panjakent
The Panjakent Suzani International Folk Art Festival is a new event, first held December 12-13, 2025, at the Olim Boboyev Cultural Palace, celebrating Panjakent's suzani embroidery tradition following the city's October 2025 designation as a World Craft City. The inaugural edition brought Tajik artisans together with representatives of Santa Fe's International Folk Art Market.
Panjakent, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Central Asia and a key waypoint on the historic Silk Road, received a significant honor on October 21, 2025, when it was designated a World Craft City in recognition of its suzani embroidery tradition.
