FARD Festival in Somita

An annual three-day Foni region festival run by the Foni Agency for Rural Development since 2018, mixing traditional wrestling, music, dance and multi-community cuisine under a unity and dialogue theme, staged in a different Foni village each year rather than one fixed permanent site every time.

FARD Festival is organized by the Foni Agency for Rural Development, known as FARD, a non-political, non-profit body founded in July 2018 out of practical necessity to respond to needs across the Foni region of Gambia's West Coast.
