Festival International de Bizerte in Bizerte
The Festival International de Bizerte is an annual summer arts festival held at the city's open-air theater in northern Tunisia, running roughly five weeks from mid-July into August. Dating to the early 1980s and reaching a 43rd edition in 2026, it programs Tunisian and international concerts, theater and circus performances, mixing established Arab pop headliners with local troupes.
Bizerte's identity has long been tied to the sea: it hosts a point near the northernmost tip of Africa on the Mediterranean, a natural lake connected to the open water by a narrow canal, and a townscape layered with Punic, Spanish, Ottoman and French colonial influence.
