Carthage Choreographic Days in Tunis
Carthage Choreographic Days, known in French as the Journees Choregraphiques de Carthage, brings contemporary and traditional dance companies from Tunisia, Africa, and beyond to the Cite de la Culture in Tunis each June. Since its 2018 launch under choreographer and researcher Meriem Guelouz, the festival has paired stage performances with professional workshops and meetings for touring dancers and companies.
Contemporary dance in Tunisia has historically lived in the shadow of the country's more famous theatre and film festivals, the Journees Theatrales de Carthage and the Journees Cinematographiques de Carthage, both of which date back decades.
