The Diyarbakir Culture Road Festival, locally branded Sur Kultur Yolu Festivali after the historic walled district, ran for the second time in 2026 through 22 October. Programming included a water-surface ebru marbling and light-mapping display on the facade of the Ulu Cami, set within Diyarbakir's UNESCO-listed city walls.

Diyarbakir's old city, known as Sur, sits behind one of the longest surviving fortification systems in the world, black basalt walls that have watched over the Tigris river valley since Roman and Byzantine times.
