Trabzon Culture Road Festival in Trabzon
The Trabzon Culture Road Festival is the Black Sea city's edition of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's Turkiye Kultur Yolu Festivali, run under the local name Sumela Festivali after the cliffside Sumela Monastery. Held in high summer, it fills the city with concerts, food stalls and craft workshops celebrating Eastern Black Sea culture.
Trabzon's edition of the Turkiye Kultur Yolu Festivali carries a local name borrowed from the region's most striking landmark: Sumela Festivali, after the Byzantine-era Sumela Monastery, which clings to a sheer cliff face in the Altindere valley south of the city.
