The story

Carpathian Space in Ivano-Frankivsk

Carpathian Space (Karpatskyi Prostir) is an international arts and diplomacy festival founded in 2016 by Ukraine's National Operetta with support from the Ministry of Culture, bringing artists, ambassadors, and cultural figures from across the Carpathian region to Ivano-Frankivsk each May under the motto Art Unites the World.

Carpathian Space, known in Ukrainian as Karpatskyi Prostir, began in January 2016 when the artistic director of Ukraine's National Operetta issued a call to the Ukrainian and international arts community under the motto Art Unites the World, an initiative that quickly gained support from artists and diplomatic representatives of ten countries.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

Few regional Ukrainian festivals combine culture with formal diplomacy this directly: its first edition in May 2016 brought together artists and representatives from ten countries' diplomatic circles, and by its second year it had grown to include representatives of 43 countries, among them 29 ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary, all convening to discuss the Carpathian region's economic and cultural potential

02

The mystery stays covered

The festival transforms central Ivano-Frankivsk into themed open-air zones, including Art Space, Cinema Space, Cuisine Space, Classical Music Space, and Wine Space, spread across the city's most scenic streets and squares for three days
