Dubai Canvas in Dubai
Dubai Canvas has run annually since 2016, transforming City Walk and The Walk at JBR into an open-air gallery of large-scale 3D street art and optical-illusion pavement paintings, anchored by a AED 2.3 million prize, the world's first award dedicated specifically to 3D art, and featuring work from the discipline's own inventor Kurt Wenner alongside artists like Leon Keer.
A single 3D-art award carries AED 2.3 million in prize money, roughly $650,000, making Dubai Canvas's own competition the world's first award of its kind recognising creative excellence specifically in 3D street art, an unusually well-funded prize for a discipline still relatively new to mainstream public art festivals.
