Sharjah Arabic Poetry Festival in Sharjah

The Sharjah Arabic Poetry Festival is a long-running annual event held each January at the Sharjah Cultural Palace, organized by the Sharjah Department of Culture under the patronage of Ruler Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi. Its 22nd edition ran January 5 to 11, 2026, bringing together more than eighty poets, critics, and media professionals from across the Arab world and parts of Africa.

Sharjah has spent decades building a reputation as a cultural capital within the Gulf, and its Department of Culture found an early anchor for that identity in Arabic poetry specifically.
