Capital PRIDE fills Albany's Washington Park each June with a parade and festival organized by In Our Own Voices and the Pride Center of the Capital Region. Drawing more than 25,000 attendees, it is billed as the largest Pride celebration in the Northeast outside New York City and Boston.

The event grew out of planning in 1997, the Pride Center's 25th anniversary year, when organizers launched the first official annual parade starting at the Washington Park Lakehouse
