Mariachi Spectacular de Albuquerque in Albuquerque

Mariachi Spectacular de Albuquerque is a multi-day mariachi music festival held every July, cofounded in 1991 by the University of New Mexico's Division of Continuing Education and executive director Norberta Fresquez. The event combines a mariachi conference and workshops, a mariachi mass called La Pasion, a student showcase concert, and induction into the Mariachi Music Hall of Fame, drawing 40 to 50 mariachi ensembles and roughly 12,000 attendees each year.

Mariachi Spectacular de Albuquerque began in 1991, cofounded by the University of New Mexico's Division of Continuing Education and Norberta Fresquez, a New Mexico native who grew up in Deming listening to Latin music and fell in love with the sound as a child.
