Maifest in the Amana Colonies in Amana
Maifest is a spring German-heritage festival across the village of Amana, held the first weekend of May since 1984 and centered on traditional Maypole dancing. It features a Saturday parade, a village-wide food-truck fair, and a Sunday Wine and Beer Walk with a complimentary glass for early finishers.
Maifest in the Amana Colonies has run since 1984, giving it more than four decades of continuous history as one of the village's core German heritage festivals, held every year on the first weekend of May to mark the traditional European celebration of spring's arrival.
