Aynor Harvest Hoe-Down Festival in Aynor
The Aynor Harvest Hoe-Down Festival is a one-day fall harvest festival held each September in Aynor Town Park in rural Horry County, South Carolina. Sponsored by the Pilot Club of Aynor since around 1980, the festival draws roughly twenty-four thousand visitors for a parade, a beauty pageant, more than one hundred arts and crafts vendors, and classic Southern festival food.
The Aynor Harvest Hoe-Down Festival began around 1980 as a fall celebration for a small farming town in inland Horry County, a part of the region defined far more by tobacco and produce fields than by the beach tourism that dominates the coastal Grand Strand just twenty miles away.
