United Tribes International Powwow in Bismarck

The United Tribes International Powwow is one of the largest powwows in North America, held each September at the Lone Star Arena on the United Tribes Technical College campus in Bismarck, North Dakota. The 56th annual edition runs September 11 to 13, 2026, featuring more than 70 tribes, over 1,500 dancers and drummers, a grand entry procession, and dance and hand drum competitions.

United Tribes Technical College, founded in Bismarck, North Dakota, in the early 1970s as a tribally controlled institution serving Native students from across the United States, has hosted its International Powwow for more than five decades, building the event into one of the largest and most respected powwows in North America.
