Boston Pride For The People in Boston
Boston Pride For The People is the volunteer-led organization that revived Boston's LGBTQ+ Pride parade and festival after the original Boston Pride Committee, which had run the event since 1999, dissolved in July 2021 amid criticism over racial inclusion. Formed in 2022 following a grassroots Pop-Up Pride gathering, the group staged its first parade in June 2023 and now holds an annual Pride Month parade and festival each June in Boston.
For two decades, the Boston Pride Committee organized the city's LGBTQ+ Pride parade, growing it into one of the largest in New England, with the 2019 march reportedly drawing around 750,000 spectators and participants along the parade route.
