Bridgewater Country Fair in Bridgewater
Bridgewater Country Fair is a three-day summer fair run entirely by the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department, held each August at the fairgrounds on Main Street South in Bridgewater, Connecticut, and marking its 73rd consecutive year in 2026. It opens Friday evening with a parade of volunteer fire companies from Connecticut and New York, then runs into a weekend of fair food cooked by firefighters and EMS members, midway rides, and a raffle, with proceeds funding the department's equipment and operations.
Bridgewater is a small town on the Housatonic River in western Connecticut, and for more than seventy years its volunteer fire department has funded itself almost entirely through three days in late August.
