Carmel International Arts Festival in Carmel
The Carmel International Arts Festival fills the Carmel Arts and Design District in Carmel, Indiana every late September, closing Main Street and Rangeline Road to traffic for a two-day juried show of artists working across mediums. Founded by Rosemary Waters, the festival temporarily renames Main Street Rosemary Waters Way each year in recognition of her role in creating it.
Carmel, Indiana, a suburb north of Indianapolis, has spent recent decades deliberately building an identity around the arts, anchored by the purpose-designed Carmel Arts and Design District at Main Street and Rangeline Road.
