NewBo City Market Market After Dark in Cedar Rapids
Market After Dark, sometimes paired with the NewBo City Market name because of its New Bohemia district setting, is a free evening street festival in downtown Cedar Rapids featuring vendors, live music, and lighted art installations. Organized by Downtown Cedar Rapids and the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, it draws over one hundred vendors to 2nd through 5th Street SE each late August.
Market After Dark grew out of downtown Cedar Rapids's broader push, in the years following the catastrophic 2008 Cedar River flood, to rebuild its riverfront districts as active, walkable gathering spaces.
