Fur Trade Days in Chadron
Fur Trade Days has filled Chadron's brick-front downtown every second full weekend of July since the 1970s, tying the town to the fur-trade era and frontier routes that shaped northwestern Nebraska. The schedule includes Museum of the Fur Trade programming, a traders market, a parade, the Colter Run, cemetery tours, a carnival, street dances, and buffalo-chip throwing.
In Chadron, the mood is simple and warm: bright summer light on brick storefronts, people drifting toward downtown, and the kind of crowd where half the fun is recognizing who just waved from across the street.
