Charleston Greek Festival in Charleston
Charleston Greek Festival is a three-day celebration of Greek food, music, and culture held each May at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity in downtown Charleston, South Carolina. Running since 1970 and now in its fifty-fifth year, it is the Lowcountry's oldest continuously operated festival, drawing more than 35,000 visitors with gyros, pastries, Greek wine and beer, live music, traditional dance, and cathedral tours.
In 1970, the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity in downtown Charleston opened its doors for what would become the oldest continuously running festival in the Lowcountry.
