Spoleto Festival USA is a 17-day performing arts festival held each late spring in Charleston, South Carolina, since 1977. Founded by composer Gian Carlo Menotti as an American counterpart to his Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, Italy, it stages more than 150 performances of opera, dance, theater, classical music, and jazz across the city's historic theaters, churches, and gardens.

Spoleto Festival USA was founded in 1977 by the Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Gian Carlo Menotti, who wanted an American counterpart to the Festival dei Due Mondi, the arts festival he had established two decades earlier in Spoleto, Italy.
