Black Harvest Film Festival in Chicago
Held each fall at the Gene Siskel Film Center, the Black Harvest Film Festival has showcased short and feature-length films by Black filmmakers from across the global diaspora since the mid-1990s. Its 32nd annual edition ran in November 2026, continuing a mission co-founded by the late film critic and historian Sergio Mims to celebrate the Black experience on screen.
Its institutional backing and cultural mission make it a meaningful film row.
