Bud Billiken Parade in Chicago

The Bud Billiken Parade and Picnic is an annual African American parade held on the second Saturday in August along Dr. Martin Luther King Drive through Chicago's Bronzeville and Washington Park neighborhoods. Founded in 1929 by Chicago Defender publisher Robert Sengstacke Abbott, it is widely cited as the largest African American parade in the United States and the second-largest parade overall, ending with a picnic and festival in Washington Park.
