Chicago Thanksgiving Parade in Chicago
Chicago's Thanksgiving morning parade down State Street began in 1934 as a Depression-era Christmas parade meant to boost morale and local business. Now branded the McDonald's Thanksgiving Parade, it runs from 8 to 11 a.m. each Thanksgiving with giant character balloons, floats, and marching bands, produced by the nonprofit Chicago Festival Association.
Its long history and downtown holiday identity make it a strong seasonal row.
