The story

IngenuityFest in Cleveland

IngenuityFest is Cleveland's annual art-and-technology festival, staged across multiple floors of a converted warehouse in the St. Clair-Superior neighborhood. Produced by the nonprofit Ingenuity Cleveland, the September weekend event pairs large-scale interactive installations and maker exhibits with live indie and electronic music. Now in its third decade, it serves as Ingenuity's primary annual fundraiser while drawing artists, engineers, and Cleveland families into a repurposed industrial space.

Its arts/innovation identity makes it a strong Design & Innovation row.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

IngenuityFest grew out of Cleveland's push to reclaim its industrial warehouse district for creative use, and each edition still unfolds inside the Hamilton Collaborative warehouse buildings that Ingenuity Cleveland calls home year-round

02

The mystery stays covered

What sets it apart from a typical arts festival is the deliberate mixing of disciplines: engineers, sculptors, coders, and musicians share the same four floors, so a circuit-bending workshop might sit beside a kinetic light installation or a fire-art performance

03

The city starts moving

The festival also carries a civic mission, framed by its organizers as a catalyst that revitalizes and reinterprets Cleveland, using art and invention to draw people into a neighborhood built around old rail and manufacturing infrastructure
