Columbia International Festival in Columbia
The Columbia International Festival is South Carolina's largest annual celebration of global cultures, held each spring at the SC State Fairgrounds since 1996. The alcohol-free, family-oriented event gathers foreign-born residents and cultural organizations representing roughly one hundred countries for two days of food, performances, and exhibits.
The Columbia International Festival began in 1996 as a direct response to a practical problem: South Carolina's capital was home to a growing number of immigrant and international communities, yet there was no single event that brought them together with each other, let alone with the broader Columbia public.
