Magnolia Festival of Oklahoma in Durant
The Magnolia Festival of Oklahoma takes over the Choctaw Event Center in Durant each spring, honoring the city's identity as the City of Magnolias with a carnival, live entertainment, and more than 150 shopping vendors. A Downtown 5K and Fun Run kicks off the weekend, and family favorites like turtle races round out the schedule. The festival has won the Oklahoma Travel Industry Association's Redbud Award for Outstanding Event.
Durant sits in Bryan County in southeastern Oklahoma and serves as the capital of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, but the city's own civic identity has long centered on the magnolia trees that give it the nickname City of Magnolias.
