Hamptons International Film Festival in East Hampton
The Hamptons International Film Festival brings roughly a hundred films from at least 20 countries to East Hampton each October, founded in 1992 by Joyce Robinson. An eleven-day event drawing about 18,000 attendees, it is a qualifying festival for the Academy Awards and awards a package worth more than 165,000 dollars.
Its awards-season timing and destination setting make it a major New York film event.
