Chesapeake Film Festival in Easton
The Chesapeake Film Festival, founded in 2008, screens up to fifty independent films each October across three historic downtown Easton venues, the Ebenezer Theater, the Academy Art Museum, and the Talbot County Free Library. Its mission gives priority to films on the environment and social justice, reflecting the festival's Chesapeake Bay location, and 2026 marks its nineteenth season.
The Chesapeake Film Festival launched in 2008 in Easton, Maryland, founded with an explicit mission to entertain, empower, educate, and inspire audiences through independent film, and from the outset the festival's leadership chose to prioritize films addressing the environment and social justice specifically because of the region's identity as part of the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
