Edmonds Arts Festival in Edmonds
Held over Father's Day weekend since 1957, the Edmonds Arts Festival is one of Washington's oldest juried art shows, filling the small Puget Sound city of Edmonds with painting, sculpture, ceramics and fiber art. What began as a modest local experiment now draws more than 50,000 visitors, with proceeds funding scholarships and community arts grants.
Edmonds, a small ferry town on Puget Sound just north of Seattle, launched its arts festival in 1957 as what organizers later described as a halting experiment by a handful of enthusiasts.
