Edison Festival of Light in Fort Myers
The Edison Festival of Light is an annual celebration in Fort Myers, Florida honoring inventor Thomas Edison, who wintered in the city from 1885 until his death in 1931. Organized since 1938, the festival centers on a nighttime Grand Parade of illuminated, Edison-themed floats down McGregor Boulevard and Hendry Street, alongside a Junior Parade, a 5K run, and a citywide street festival.
Its historic-city identity and large night parade make it a strong civic event.
