Sodbuster Days in Fort Ransom

Sodbuster Days is a living-history event held twice each year at the historic Sunne Farm within Fort Ransom State Park, North Dakota, on the second weekend in July and the weekend after Labor Day. First held in 1984 to mark the farm's centennial, the event features horse-powered threshing, corn grinding, plowing, blacksmithing, weaving, and a working sawmill.

In 1884, Andrew and Johanna Sunne settled a farm along the Sheyenne River valley near what is now Fort Ransom, North Dakota, part of the wave of homesteaders who transformed the region's native prairie into cultivated farmland during the late nineteenth century.
