Juneteenth Parade and Festival in Fort Worth
Fort Worth has marked Juneteenth with a parade and community festival since at least the 1970s, and the tradition has only grown as the city became home to the National Juneteenth Museum and to Opal Lee, the retired teacher and activist often called the grandmother of Juneteenth for her decades of advocacy that helped push the holiday to federal recognition. Modern celebrations combine a parade route, live music, food vendors, and family programming across several days in mid-June.
