The Great Frederick Fair in Frederick
The Great Frederick Fair is a nine-day agricultural fair held each September at the Frederick Fairgrounds in Frederick, Maryland, run by the Frederick County Agricultural Society. The 2026 fair is its 164th edition, making it one of Maryland's two largest agricultural fairs and a fixture of the state's fair circuit.
The Great Frederick Fair's roots trace to 1822, when the Frederick County Agricultural Society was formed to support the region's farming community, with prominent local families, notably the Schleys, playing a central role in organizing what would become the county's signature agricultural showcase.
