ArtPrize in Grand Rapids
ArtPrize is a public-vote art competition and festival held over 19 days each fall across more than 160 venues in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, awarding 500,000 dollars in cash prizes. Created in 2009 by Rick DeVos, it lets any artist over 18 display work in nearly any downtown space, from museums to bars to laundromats, with winners determined by public voting and a jury of art experts.
Its scale and public-voting model make it one of Michigan's strongest arts rows.
