The story

Haddonfield Crafts and Fine Art Festival in Haddonfield

The Haddonfield Crafts and Fine Art Festival is a two-day juried outdoor art show held each July in downtown Haddonfield, New Jersey's historic shopping district. Founded around 1995 by Renaissance Craftables owner Barbara Boroff, it now features more than 200 juried artists working in ceramics, glass, jewelry, fiber, wood, photography, painting, sculpture and mixed media, and draws an estimated 100,000 visitors to the tree-lined downtown over the weekend.

Its walkable town setting and craft identity make it a solid South Jersey arts row.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

What distinguishes this festival from a typical street craft sale is its jury process: every exhibitor among the more than 200 is selected for original work rather than for simply paying for booth space, earning a reputation as one of the region's stronger fine art and craft shows

02

The mystery stays covered

It is staged within Haddonfield's certified historic district, a compact, walkable downtown once named by the New York Times as having one of the best shop collections in the state, so the art booths sit alongside the town's own boutiques, cafes and restaurants rather than in a fairground or parking lot

03

The city starts moving

Now in its fourth decade, the festival has grown from a local founder's initiative into a Subaru-sponsored event drawing crowds far larger than the town's own population
