Pembina County Fair in Hamilton
The Pembina County Fair, held each July at the Pembina County Fairgrounds in Hamilton, North Dakota, is the oldest continuously running county fair in North Dakota, dating to 1894. Billed as the Biggest Little Fair in North Dakota, the 2026 fair runs July 9 to 11 with a carnival, 4-H exhibits, livestock and horsemanship shows, and chariot and chuckwagon races.
Hamilton, a small town in Pembina County in North Dakota's northeastern Red River Valley, has hosted a county fair every year since 1894, a run of more than 130 consecutive years that makes it the oldest continuously operating county fair anywhere in the state.
