Old West Days in Jackson
Old West Days is Jackson Hole's annual cowboy-culture festival, held in late May around Memorial Day and marking more than four decades of celebrating the American West. The multi-day event centers on the Best of the West Parade, the Town Square Shootout, stagecoach rides, and the Elkfest antler auction, alongside the Million Dollar Music Fest.
Old West Days began in Jackson Hole as a way to formally celebrate the cowboy and frontier heritage that shapes much of the valley's civic identity, and more than four decades later it remains built around the same central idea: that the spirit of the American West is worth staging publicly rather than leaving to museum exhibits alone.
