Ethnic Enrichment Festival in Kansas City
The Ethnic Enrichment Festival is an annual multicultural celebration held each August in Kansas City's Swope Park, organized by the Ethnic Enrichment Commission, a nonprofit tracing its roots to the mid-1970s. The weekend-long festival brings together dozens of cultural communities through food, music, and dance, drawing tens of thousands of attendees and representing more than 70 countries through its member commissions.
The Ethnic Enrichment Festival grew out of an organization built specifically to give Kansas City's many immigrant and ethnic communities a shared civic platform.
