Kansas City Irish Fest in Kansas City
Kansas City Irish Fest is a three-day, Labor Day weekend celebration of Irish culture held on Crown Center Square in downtown Kansas City. Formed from the merger of the former Brookside and Westport neighborhood Irish festivals, the nonprofit event draws roughly 75,000 attendees for Irish and Celtic music, dance, a marketplace of Irish goods, and food and drink built around Guinness, whiskey, and Irish coffee.
Kansas City Irish Fest did not begin as a single festival but as two: for years, the Brookside and Westport neighborhoods each hosted their own smaller Irish celebrations, reflecting pockets of Irish American life scattered across the city.
