Wagon Days in Ketchum

Since 1958, Wagon Days has marked Labor Day weekend in Ketchum with the Big Hitch Parade, when the historic Lewis ore wagons, the last of their kind in existence, are pulled out of the Ore Wagon Museum for their only outing of the year. Four days of cowboy poetry, pancake breakfasts, and a Main Street street party round out the western-heritage celebration.

Ketchum began as a mining town in the 1880s, and its ore wagons, the heavy horse-drawn vehicles used to haul silver and lead ore down from the surrounding mountains, were once a common sight on its streets.
